What is the cost?
Presently, there is no cost for our residential services for expectant unwed mothers.

Is there a minimum time at Highlands before the delivery date?
Our hospital and doctors would like the expectant mother to enter the Highlands ministry no later than 6 weeks before the birth. However, to receive the full benefits of the ministry it is suggested that the prospective resident enter the ministry sometime during her first trimester.

Will she be able to finish high school or complete a GED course?
Yes, educational arrangements can be made.   This is done on an individual basis to meet the needs of the resident.

What classes will be taught by Highlands?
Highlands has a number of classes following two tracks; parenting or adoption. Each resident is expected to make both parenting and adoption plans in case she changes her mind one-way or the other after the birth.  Other classes are prenatal care, infant care, parenting skills, sewing, personal money management, adoption issues, cooking class, Bible study and building godly relationships.

Can she receive visitors...and to what extent?
The expectant mom is able to receive most visitors except the birthfather.  Her parents may visit simply by making arrangements with the caseworker, however, other guests such as relatives and siblings are discouraged.
