Hillcrest Children's Home A Ministry of AG Family Services Agency
Hillcrest Children’s Home is a private Christian residential child care facility established in 1944 as an Assemblies of God child care ministry to abused and neglected children. Hillcrest has a national outreach to abused and neglected children. Our mission is to rescue children from harm's way, restore broken hearts and spirits...rekindling hope for a child's bright future.
Restoring America’s Broken Children * Home for the Homeless
* Love for the Unloved
* Security for the Neglected
Some arrive frightened and frustrated; others, undernourished and neglected. They have been removed from home because of derelict parents, or have suffered the heartbreak of a home shattered by divorce, or have tragically lost one or both parents.These are the children who come to Hillcrest Children’s Home. It takes time, prayer, tender care, and warm Christian love to erase the effects of these tragic experiences. Restoring hope for victims of abuse and neglect can take several years given the devastating effects of repeated offenses. Without holistic residential care, victims generally return to an abusive lifestyle.
Hillcrest focuses on intervention and restoration by providing the loving home and care every child needs and deserves in their developing years. At Hillcrest, we address the physical, emotional, mental, and educational needs of each child as they are restored to new life.
The majority of referrals come from pastors, friends of Hillcrest, and relatives of hurting children. Boys and girls come to Hillcrest having experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment, or the divorce or death of their parents. The caring environment at Hillcrest is designed to demonstrate love to these broken children.
Children (ages 5-18), grouped by age and gender, are provided a homelike atmosphere (the multiple homes on campus are referred to as Hillcrest Cottages) with balanced diets, proper clothing, medical/dental/optical checkups to ensure their physical well-being. The children attend school and are members of a local Assemblies of God church. A loving home environment, daily devotions, Biblical counseling, chapel services, and regular church attendance minister to their spiritual needs. Hillcrest also has a College Fund (see “Contrbute Now” link > AGFSA College Fund) available for Hillcrest senior high students as they pursue their next level of education following high school graduation.
